First Alert Forecast: 2025 Fort Wayne weather recap, cold and dry start to 2026

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – With the quiet start to 2026, I want to take some time to recap some of Fort Wayne’s weather stats from 2025. A Fort Wayne Weather Wrapped, if you will.

In terms of temperature the average high was 64.1 degrees, lower than the warmest year in 2024, but still well above average. Our 2025 average low of 41 degrees was below both 2024 and overall average. This means we saw the highest of highs and lowest of lows for temperatures last year. 2025 was also the 5th most humid year since 1948.

This was while Fort Wayne broke the record for driest year since records began in 1897 with only 24.31″ of rain recorded. This is not a surprise as 11 of the 12 month were below average for rain (April was the only month above average), and we remain in an extreme drought as of the latest update…
