MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — The countdown to 2026 is underway, and kitchens across South Central Pa. are preparing pork and sauerkraut meals ahead of the New Year.
“It is a lot of food, but we’re hoping to sell out,” said Deb McCreary, the manager of Buhrig’s Gathering Place.
McCreary said she is preparing more than 20 lbs. of pork and sauerkraut ahead of Turning Point Church of Mechanicsburg’s annual dinner and fundraiser. The event allows families to take part in the unique New Year’s tradition, while raising money for the nonprofit Feed My Starving Children…
