MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was killed in a shooting just a few minutes before midnight on New Year’s Eve.
Memphis Police officers say they responded to the shooting at 11:48 p.m. in the 4100 block of McCorkle Road in Whitehaven.

When authorities arrived, they said one male was pronounced dead, and one person was detained, but has been released.
Police also reported that the deceased victim is known to the suspect.
