New Mediterranean Destination Debuts at SkyBeach Resort, Bringing Coastal Flavors and Style to Tampa Bay
St. Petersburg is welcoming an exciting new culinary chapter in early 2026 with the upcoming opening of Luma, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and bar debuting January 22, 2026, at 6800 Sunshine Skyway Lane S., St. Petersburg, Florida 33711. Anchored within the newly renovated SkyBeach Resort, Luma promises to become a standout dining destination for locals and visitors alike.
A Vibrant Mediterranean Experience in Tampa Bay, With an Appealing New Brand
Described by its team as “where golden light meets the timeless spirit and soulful flavors of the Mediterranean,” Luma blends coastal influences with locally inspired ingredients to offer a menu rooted in warmth, hospitality, and shared experience. As a designer and writer, I have to say not only is their appetizing photography, cocktails, and dishes look appealing, so too does their typographically driven logo.
Helmed by Executive Chef Ryan VanDusen, the restaurant focuses on a contemporary Mediterranean mezze approach. Guests can expect shareable plates, fresh seafood, mezze classics, and creative entrées that highlight local produce and Gulf Coast seafood—anchored by inventive craft cocktails and an atmosphere designed for relaxed gatherings.
Located just off the main lobby of SkyBeach Resort, Luma complements the resort’s waterfront appeal with an open, light-filled space that reflects both coastal elegance and casual sophistication. Its name—derived from “lumen,” meaning light—echoes the radiant St. Pete sun and the restaurant’s inviting aesthetic.
A Culinary Anchor for the Skyway Marina District
Luma represents a key piece of Tampa Bay’s evolving food and hospitality landscape. Set within SkyBeach Resort’s 18-acre marina district, the restaurant joins other recent culinary and hospitality expansions in the area, enhancing St. Pete’s reputation as a regional destination for vibrant dining and waterfront lifestyle experiences…
