Hit-and-run driver kills one NYC pedestrian, leaves another clinging to life in New Year’s Day carnage

A hit-and-run driver barreled into two pedestrians on New Year’s Day in Queens, leaving one dead and a 24-year-old man clinging to life, according to police.

The two men were crossing 102nd Street near 37th Avenue in Corona when the driver of a white SUV — traveling southbound on 102nd Street — slammed into them just after 4 a.m. Thursday, cops said.
