SYRACUSE, N.Y. — As Syracuse rings in the new year, it comes with a new leader for the city.

Former Mayor Ben Walsh hit his term limit after eight years in office. In a private ceremony Sharon Owens, who served as Walsh’s Deputy Mayor, was sworn in as the Mayor of Syracuse on Wednesday, December 31.
