The New Orleans Police & Justice Foundation hosted its 30th annual Stake Out for Justice Luncheon, where civic leaders, business figures, elected officials and members of the region’s law enforcement community gathered to support the foundation, honor first responders and local law enforcement, and mark the strides in public safety made across the city over the past year.
Held Sept. 4 at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, among the speakers were Louisiana Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, Louisiana State Police Col. Robert Hodges and NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick. They delivered remarks highlighting the progress in reducing crime, strengthening policing strategies and restoring confidence in public safety.
An awards presentation recognized exemplary community service: the 2025 Honorary Crimefighter was Gayle Benson and the Badge of Honor recipients were the NOPD Bomb Squad, NOPD Det.
