Cold front could bring some snow to mountainous areas in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The northern mountains may get a couple of inches of snow Thursday and Friday in spots to add a little powder but otherwise the year is starting off calm.

Albuquerque saw its warmest year on record in 2025. December 2025 was also the warmest month on record.

That trend will continue into 2026. Temperatures will be in the 50s for Thursday and closer to 58-60 degrees Friday through Sunday, at least in the Albuquerque metro where the average high temperatures is about 46-47 degrees. The weekend looks dry and sunny to partly cloudy over much of the state…
