HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Court of Appeals has upheld the murder conviction of Cory Bigsby, who was found guilty in 2024 of killing his four-year-old son, Codi Bigsby.
The court ruled there was sufficient evidence for a jury to convict Cory of second-degree murder and concealment of a dead body despite Codi’s remains never being found. Cory challenged the sufficiency of the evidence to sustain his convictions and objected to the jury selection.
A three-judge panel of the Court of Appeals ruled that Cory’s confessions were corroborated by other evidence and found no error in the handling of jury selection. They rejected the appeal and issued their decision Tuesday…
