Colleagues escort Wolverine Lake police sergeant battling cancer to chemotherapy appointment

(WWJ) A show of support for a Wolverine Lake police sergeant who is battling cancer.

Police officers from Wolverine Lake, Novi, Wixom and Milford joined with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department to escort Sgt John Marasco, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last September, from his Livonia home to his chemotherapy appointment at the University of Michigan Northville Health Center at Seven Mile and Haggerty roads on Friday morning.

“I’ve just been very touched by all of the support I’ve received and it’s very emotional and I just love these guys for taking care of me like this,” Marasco told WWJ’s Charlie Langton.  My goal is to get well enough so I can turnaround and give back more to everybody else that’s been giving back to me.”…
