Off-duty firefighter, wife rescue 2 from fiery North Carolina crash

CAMERON, N.C. (WNCN) — An off-duty firefighter and his wife helped rescue two people from a fiery crash in Harnett County, North Carolina early Thursday morning, officials said.

According to the Crains Creek Fire Department, a single vehicle struck multiple trees at the intersection of Hilmon Grove Road and Cameron Hill Road near Cameron around midnight.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames, according to the department. The firefighters were quickly able to bring the blaze under control and extinguish it.

Officials said the two occupants of the vehicle were outside and lying on the ground by the time emergency personnel arrived. They were treated at the scene and taken to a trauma center by ambulance…
