Dad claims teen’s parent provided alcohol to driver in deadly Horry Co. crash, suit says

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — Christopher Hatcher, the father of a teen killed in a crash last year, is suing an alcohol company and the father of the driver killed in the crash after he claims the teen driving was “highly intoxicated.”

Chance Huggins, 16, of the Green Sea Community and Carson Hatcher, 17, of the Aynor/Nichols area both died as a result of the crash on July 13, according to Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden. Just after 4:30 a.m., the Dodge truck was travelling north on Highway 19, went off the road to the left, hit a tree and overturned and hit a house, according to Corporal David Jones with the S.C. Department of Public Safety.

Jones said the driver, Chance, died on scene, and the passenger, Carson, succumbed to their injuries at an area hospital…
