Toledo homicides remain steady at 38 for second consecutive year

TOLEDO — Toledo recorded 38 homicides in 2025, matching the previous year’s total and returning to pre-pandemic levels, according to data compiled by Toledo police and 13 Action News.

The city saw consistent homicide rates in the years before the pandemic. Then came a surge in 2020 with 61 homicides, followed by a record year in 2021 with 71 homicides. That number remained elevated in 2022 but started to decline.
