WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Your First Alert Forecast opens this Friday with sunshine that will fade late in the day behind a bank of clouds. Despite the ominous look, rain chances look to stay low as highs jump into the 60s once again.
Rain chances remain on track to spike early Saturday with the approach of our next low pressure system. As the yearly rainfall counter resets, it’s important to remember that we’ve brought in a 14-inch rainfall deficit from 2025, so the manageable tenths of an inch of rain expected to fall will be welcome to the Cape Fear Region. By Saturday night, the rain moves out, setting us up for sunshine and cooler breezes as highs slide from the 50s Saturday to the 40s and 50s Sunday.
After a cool start, look for unseasonably warm 60s and 70s for the middle and end of the week…
