Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department’s 2nd District responded to reports of a shooting on the 7100 block of Oakland Street just after 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1, according to police.
When officers arrived, they found 52-year-old Luis Colon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Colon, who lived on the block, was transported by police to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:55 a.m., authorities said.
