December was certainly an important month for Kyle Whittingham. First, he ended his two-decade association with the University of Utah, his first and, up until a week ago, his only head coaching job. His stint at the school was almost legendary, finishing with a record of 177-88.
Shortly after stepping down from the school, he was hired by a desperate Michigan athletic department, which was trying to repair the damage done by the recent Sherrone Moore scandal. Safe to say, it was a momentous month in Whittingham’s life.
