100-day road closure coming to Douglas County

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — Next week, part of County Line Road in Douglas County will close for 100 working days. The closure is part of a widening and reconstruction project with detours in place to make sure people can access all of the businesses in the area.

Along East County Line Road, Wilmore Garden Center has seen a lot of development since 1886.

“So we’re the oldest nursery in the state of Colorado,” Manager Lon Vincent said. “We have a bomb shelter in here, and then we turned it into a nursery in 1977. So there’s tons of history.”

Vincent walked FOX31 through the nursery, and all that’s changed around the historical destination with pictures capturing development over the decades. The nursery is now seeing the changes coming with the County Line Road widening and reconstruction project. There’s a closure down the way from them at Clarkson Street that’s set to start Tuesday…
