Oklahoma hosting transfer that could potentially fill multiple roster needs

Finally, the Transfer Portal can give again instead of just take.

With the portal officially opening on Friday to unleash full transfer chaos, multiple college football insiders reported throughout the day that the Sooners are expected to host Colorado State transfer running back Lloyd Avant for a visit this weekend with a commitment also likely on the way.

Avant will have two years of eligibility left and is in the portal for the second time as a sophomore after head coaching changes at both of his previous stops at Colorado State and Tulsa. He spent this season at Colorado State, where he had 417 yards on 90 carries with a team-high five rushing touchdowns. He also caught 24 passes for 261 yards and another score, and returned 11 kickoffs for 268 yards, proving his versatility.

He started his career at Tulsa under Kevin Wilson, who is now a senior offensive analyst for the Sooners and likely Avant’s biggest draw back to the Sooner State. Wilson took advantage of Avant’s versatility as a freshman while using him as a running back, pass-catcher and return man. He was second on the team with 76 carries for 259 yards and a TD, plus 12 catches for 62 yards. Avant also returned 14 kicks for 392 yards, including a 100-yard TD in his college debut…
