[1] ABQ city councilor asking for funding to address housing needs – City Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn said Albuquerque’s northeast heights is in need of more stable housing and affordable apartments. Fiebelkorn is asking for funding to help build the “Uptown Connect” apartment complex near Louisiana and I-40. Once built, Uptown Connect would create 239 mixed-rate apartments. Councilor Fiebelkorn plans to introduce her capital outlay requests during the 30-day session which starts Jan. 20.
[2] APD identifies suspect, victim in downtown shooting – APD says officers heard shots being fired just before 3 a.m. on Gold Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets. Officers saw a man, later identified as Peyton Reagan, 18, running westbound on Gold, carrying what appeared to be a rifle, and took him into custody. Officers located the victim, identified as Alexander Wilson, 25, who had multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. Reagan was booked into the Metro Detention Center on an open count of murder, conspiracy, tampering with evidence, and attempted robbery.

This morning and into the afternoon northwesterly winds will pick up throughout the Land of Enchantment. The National Weather Service has a Wind Advisory for sustained winds around 25 -35 mph and gusts up to 50 mph, which will stretch for parts of the Sandia and Manzano Mountains, Lincoln, DeBaca, Quay, Curry and Roosevelt and San Miguel Counties…
