SE Grand Recovery Shelter to open January 5, expanding recovery-focused shelter access

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The city of Portland is helping to expand access to overnight shelter with the opening of Transition Projects’ SE Grand Recovery Shelter.

The recovery-oriented overnight shelter at 614 S.E. Grand Ave. will provide 140 beds, with 60 beds available at a moment’s notice starting Jan. 5.

Transition Projects said the shelter will be available “for people who wish to get a safe night’s sleep in an alcohol- and drug-free environment.”…
