RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — The cold snap that has chilled South Florida for the past few days has sent manatees scrambling for the warmer waters in FPL’s Manatee Lagoon.
On Friday, workers counted 66 manatees in the lagoon, which is warmed from the outflow from FPL’s Riviera Beach Next Generation Clean Energy Center.
The lagoon, open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through March 31, is at 6000 N. Flagler Drive, and admission is free…
