EASLEY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office reports charging two teenagers after finding altered fireworks burning in a church parking lot.
Deputies said a 911 call reported teenagers detonating explosives and performing burnouts in the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church parking lot on Dec. 22 at 11 p.m.
The fire department worked to extinguish the flames made by altered fireworks, and deputies located extensive tire marks in the grass and on the asphalt and a charred crater measuring around 35 by 40 inches in the middle of the parking lot. The crater was surrounded by debris that matched up with that from an explosion, according to officials.
