KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The golden arches have officially vacated downtown Kalamazoo to make room for a new, multi-million dollar investment.
A demolition crew tore down the McDonald’s building on West Kalamazoo Avenue Friday morning. The land was purchased by the county in late 2025 so that a new administration building can be constructed.

County officials told News Channel 3 that same month that their current building is outdated, has infrastructural concerns, and they cannot operate out of it as efficiently as they would like.
