NEW JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A California man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal e-bike hit-and-run in Mount Laurel earlier this week.
The hit-and-run happened around 12:15 a.m. Monday. Police said 49-year-old Anthony Caprio III, of Magnolia, was riding his e-bike along the southbound shoulder of Route 73, near Clover Lane, when a white 2022 Jeep Cherokee struck him. Police arrived shortly after the incident and found Caprio unresponsive on the shoulder of the roadway; the driver fled.
Lt. Thomas Corsanico said the e-bike’s lights were on when Caprio was hit. The initial hit isn’t on video, but they do have other video evidence, including surveillance footage from several nearby businesses and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority…
