‘I was shaking’: Driver describes being rescued from sinkhole in Rhode Island

A driver who was rescued after her SUV fell into a sinkhole in Cranston, Rhode Island, on Tuesday night shared her story with NBC affiliate WJAR-TV.

Reaksmey Keokhaw said she was at the corner of Lakeside Avenue and DeKalb Street when she realized the ground was collapsing. Crews had been working to repair a water main nearby.

“I saw the water run, but not too heavy,” she told WJAR-TV. “I saw slight water, and I think it’s okay because they fixed it all day. So I slightly turn left, slow, really slow, and then, just a crack.”…
