ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- A well-known local attorney, Jasper Mills, has been arrested and indicted on charges of witness tampering and intimidation.
Mills, familiar in local courtrooms, faces charges of witness tampering, intimidating a witness, and criminal contempt. Investigators say he shared confidential witness information in a homicide trial, leading to a witness being threatened and injured in prison.
Attorney Paul DerOhannesian, not involved in this case, said, “So this indictment is saying an attorney did not comply with the order, and those are the misdemeanor charges. But it goes beyond that because it also accuses the defendant of having an intent to cause physical injury, or serious physical injury to someone.”…
