ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, La. — Deputies have identified the man accused of fleeing a traffic stop and leading officers on a high-speed chase that injured a St. John the Baptist Parish sheriff’s deputy.
According to Sheriff Mike Tregre, investigators identified Raishad Batiste as the driver who ran from a traffic stop around noon on Sunday, Dec. 28, in LaPlace.
Deputies said the stop began on Airline Highway when the driver briefly pulled into a gas station parking lot, then sped away.
