Banner Health initiates mandatory masking due to flu surge

Banner Health is initiating mandatory masking at all its facilities, including those in Scottsdale, as a result of a significant surge in seasonal influenza.

The decision is made and applied to facilities in all six states that Banner Health resides, according to a press release. Masking will be required for all patients, visitors and staff in all Banner locations where patients are present until further notice. Patients will not be required to mask in their hospital rooms, and the public is encouraged to mask in non-patient areas.
