Oahu family faced fraudulent eviction in deed forgery scheme

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – New charges have been filed in a scheme to forge deeds and steal people’s homes, with the latest case targeting a Waialua family of seven.

Sean Peregil said he and his family are still shaken months after a stranger showed up at their house and claimed he owned their property.

“Yeah, it was the whole situation was threatening,” Peregil said. “Like, where are I going to go? I get my five kids. I get, you know, this house. My dad grew up in a house. I grew up in a house. My kids grew up in this house. And for somebody stealing like that, that’s crazy.”
