1 dead after New Year’s Day crash on Pa. Turnpike

One person died early New Year’s Day following a crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Carbon County, authorities said.

Initial reports indicate a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at 4:40 a.m. Thursday.
