Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Warns of Jury Duty Scam

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a scam involving callers falsely claiming to be from the sheriff’s office.

According to the office, multiple community members have reported receiving phone calls stating they missed jury duty. The caller threatens felony or misdemeanor charges unless a fee is paid.

The sheriff’s office said it does not make phone calls of this nature on behalf of the courts. Residents who receive a suspicious call are advised not to provide personal information or make any payments…
