Domestic assault lands Norristown man in jail

NORRISTOWN — A Norristown man faces a sentence that includes jail time, a period of probation and domestic violence counseling after he admitted to strangling a romantic partner during a disturbance at his home.

Juan Manuel Zepeda-Diaz, 38, of the 600 block of Calamia Drive, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 11½ to 23 months in the county jail after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of strangulation in connection with the May 11, 2025, incident at his residence.

Judge Wendy G. Rothstein, who accepted a plea agreement in the matter, also ordered Zepeda-Diaz to complete four years of probation consecutive to parole, meaning Zepeda-Diaz will be under court supervision for about six years…
