Heartbreak and Uncertainty: Family speaks after teen in court for father’s killing

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester teenager accused of killing his father Monday was in court Friday on murder and weapons charges.

Devin McBride Jr., 17, appeared briefly in court wearing shackles and a mask. He is charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the death of his father, 38-year-old Devin McBride Sr.

Investigators say the shooting happened Monday after an argument inside the family’s apartment on Garson Avenue. Police responded around 11 p.m. after McBride Jr. reported that an unknown person had shot his father and fled. Officers found McBride Sr. suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
