This year, the LIME Foundation celebrated the eighth annual LIME Day, its community service day created to give back to the community and support families facing economic challenges.
The Foundation is known for programs like the NextGen Trades Academy, which prepares students who may not have the opportunity to go to college for well-paying work in the construction trades. The program not only trains students but also helps graduates secure careers in the trades and supports local contractors in need of skilled workers.
Many of the individuals and families the Foundation serves face multi-generation poverty, rising living costs, and economic uncertainty. Access to nutritious food is not always guaranteed. In fact, 92 percent of NextGen Trades Academy graduates come from low-income backgrounds, balancing school, work, and family responsibilities while working to break cycles of poverty…
