PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (CBS12) — A man is accused of driving drunk at 100 mph in a 45-mph zone on Alt A1A in Palm Beach Gardens.
At about 12:42 a.m., a Palm Beach Gardens Police officer was conducting speed enforcement near Alt A1A in Palm Beach Gardens when they clocked a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in in a middle through lane, an arrest report says. The vehicle was found to be traveling around 75 mph that was posted in a 50 mph zone.
The report says the officer later observed the vehicle continuing to increase in speed to 80 mph on Hood Road in a 45 mph speed zone. The criminal complaint says when the vehicle began traveling at 100 mph in the 45 mph zone on Alt A1A , the officer activated his emergency equipment and began to pursue the driver…
