AUSTIN (Nexstar) — The Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) is calling on Texas veterans to share their stories and pictures so they can be honored in the America250 commemorations, a nationwide effort to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The Texas America250 Commission is encouraging Texans to plan and participate in different events that honor the nation’s history. The TVC wants to make sure veterans are a part of that celebration.
“A big part of that is military service and veterans after military service,” Jim Halbrook, a spokesman for TVC, explained. We want to make sure in this national celebration that Texas veterans are included in that commemoration.”…
