Fire damages vacant Baton Rouge home

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Fire Department (BRFD) responded to a house fire Friday night.

Firefighters arrived at the 3100 block of Huron Street around 7:20 p.m. to find flames coming from the side window of a vacant home. Upon entry, firefighters discovered heavy fire in the kitchen that had spread to the attic.

The fire was contained to those areas, but the rest of the home sustained smoke and water damage, BRFD said.
