Suspect enters plea in shooting of Marrero 15-year-old that authorities say led to retaliatory murder

A Harvey man has admitted his role in the shooting of a 15-year-old boy, an act that Jefferson Parish authorities say led to a retaliatory killing just 30 minutes later.

Shawn Dubois, 19, pleaded guilty Dec. 18 to attempted second-degree murder and obstruction of justice, Jefferson Parish court records show.

Judge E. Adrian Adams of the 24th Judicial District Court sentenced Dubois to 10 years in prison for attempted murder and five years for obstruction.
