ST LOUIS – A dog remains in recovery after police say it was intentionally shot on Christmas Eve.
St. Louis police say they were called around 8 a.m. for what they believed was a dog bite. Upon their arrival, officers found a stray dog bleeding–not from a bite, but from an apparent gunshot wound.
Officials say the dog was unable to move, but that’s when officer Landon Jordan spoke, giving the puppy–now named Wallace–a chance to approach him. The dog, covered in blood, was then taken to Stray Rescue of St. Louis, where veterinarians sedated him, beginning extensive treatment.
