The start of a new year also means the start of the burger battle for Downtown Sioux Falls. This year, there’s a record 50 burgers on the list to try, including some from area food trucks. For three years now, Woodgrain Brewing has partnered with the food truck Southern Perfection BBQ in order to have an entry in the Burger Battle.

With the turn of the New Year, the South Dakota Legislative Session is now just 11 days away. Governor Larry Rhoden will kick off the 38 legislative days with the State of the State address on January 13th in front of the joint House and Senate. So far, 22 house bills, 2 house concurrent resolutions, 14 senate bills, 1 senate concurrent resolution, and 2 senate joint resolutions have been pre-filed.
Senator pre-files seven measures pre-session
An 86-year-old woman from Wichita, Kansas was found in Hamlin County. According to a press release, at approximately 3:59 p.m., a Hamlin County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle approximately one mile north of Lake Poinsett. Upon contact with the driver, the deputy identified the woman as a subject of a Silver Alert issued in Kansas by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
