CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Sycamore Brewing is set to close its doors in Charlotte’s South End in the coming days, a decision that follows the arrest of its former co-owner and has left many in the community questioning whether the popular brewery can recover.
Owner Sarah Taylor announced on Instagram that the brewery will close Jan. 5, 2026, calling the pause necessary for “processing and healing.” The closure comes weeks after Taylor’s now-former co-owner, Justin Brigham, was arrested in Stanly County in December 2025 and charged with the statutory rape of a 13-year-old.
