Thieves steal $30K in shoes, clothing from Winston-Salem store on New Year’s eve

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Five thieves broke into MP Kicks in Winston-Salem on New Year’s eve, stealing between $25,000 to $30,000 in shoes and high-end clothing — less than a month after the sneaker store first opened.

The break-in shattered what had been a long-awaited milestone for 22-year-old owner Peter Youssef, who unlocked the doors to his first storefront on Dec. 6 after years of hustling sneakers and conducting local meetups.

“For me, this was everything,” Youssef said. “I always wanted my own business. I wanted something safer than local meetups. Something real.”…
