Knoxville Man Charged With First-Degree Murder in Connection with Neyland Drive Shooting

Following a deadly shooting incident on Neyland Drive, the Knoxville Police Department has announced the arrest of Dytangie Jerosski Woodfin, 44, of Knoxville. In connection with the shooting death of Barry Evans, 60, also from Knoxville, Woodfin is now facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder. The details of the arrest stemmed from a continued investigation after the said altercation resulted in gunfire.

The Knoxville Police Department apprehended Woodfin in the vicinity of Spruce Street and E. Fifth Avenue on a midday Thursday. After questioning by the Homicide Unit detectives, the charges were brought forth. In a social media update, the department also included that Woodfin, a convicted felon, was charged with possession of a weapon and employing a firearm during the commission of a felony.
