Teenage employee caught stealing food and drinks during shifts at Walmart

A Lady Lake teen will appear in court after allegedly stealing various food and drink items during her shifts at Walmart.

A loss prevention associate of Walmart, located at 2501 Citrus Blvd., saw 18-year-old La’trice Anderson, a fellow employee, not paying for items around 4:10 p.m., Dec. 18, according to a case report from the Leesburg Police Department. She skip-scanned a 1.5oz pack of ranch and ticket switched a blanket worth $19.97, instead paying just $0.80.

Seeing this, an investigation began into every transaction she made from her start date at the store, the report said. Loss prevention determined that she skip-scanned on six different occasions. These incidents happened on Dec. 2, 2025, for two bags of $8.48 gummy bears; on Dec. 11, 2025, for a $0.88 Kiwi beverage; on Dec. 16, 2025, for a fried chicken platter; on Dec. 17, 2025, for two bags of $2.28 Ruffles chips; and on Dec. 18 when the thefts were noticed…
