Bold ATM Heist Foiled Near Fort Worth After White Settlement Convenience Store Hit on Christmas Eve

Early Christmas Eve in White Settlement, Texas, a convenience store became the scene of a bold ATM theft, as captured on surveillance footage. According to KSAT, two men orchestrated the theft around 3:45 a.m. using a stolen SUV to extract the ATM from the storefront. The vehicle, reportedly taken from a Dallas apartment complex an hour prior to the heist, was used to smashing through the store’s glass front, causing extensive damage.

Adding to the details, News 4 San Antonio described how the suspects tied a metal cable around the ATM, and upon acceleration, the machine was yanked right off its mountings. The perpetrators left, dragging the ATM behind them, however, their plan didn’t fully succeed, as the cable soon detached and the ATM was abandoned on a service road.

The White Settlement Police Department quickly responded to the incident and the chase led them to the stolen SUV, found off Shenandoah Road in Fort Worth. Observations from both sources indicate that the suspects may have switched to a second vehicle to make their escape after abandoning the SUV. Authorities now suspect a larger operation may be at play, as similar ATM theft attempts had been recently reported in nearby cities over the last two weeks…
