Two men convicted in major wildlife poaching case in Sierra County

DOWNIEVILLE, Calif. – The Sierra County District Attorney’s Office announced that two men have entered pleas in a significant poaching case involving multiple unlawful hunting offenses that occurred in Sierra County.

District Attorney Sandra Groven said her office charged Cameron Gilbert of Browns Valley and Michael Hubbard of Olivehurst with numerous wildlife violations.

According to the Sierra County District Attorney’s Office, the offenses against both men involved the unlawful taking and abuse of eight bears, one bobcat, one turkey, one raccoon, and multiple wild pigs…
