Suspect in stabbing at Portland grocery store stabbed a woman on MAX platform 8 years ago

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The suspect arrested for allegedly stabbing and robbing a 77-year-old man inside a Portland Safeway store on New Year’s Day served prison time for a violent crime in 2017.

Court records show that Christopher Eugene Woods, 51, stabbed a woman several times at the Lloyd Center MAX platform on May 19, 2017.

In an initial court hearing on Friday, Woods pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, robbery, and assault charges relating to a non-fatal stabbing that happened in the Safeway parking lot Thursday morning…
