Chilly December brings in 22 “cold” days and Tule fog

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Now that we are in January, we can look back at a December that was much chillier than warm. 22 days came in on the “cold” side, and until the latter part of the month it was mainly a dry time under the influence of high pressure and Tule fog.

Looking at late last week we can see the colors of the sky following the first rains of 2026, courtesy of Thomas Alfio Marion of northeast Bakersfield.

We are looking at a pretty active West Coast weather pattern with more rainfall opportunities around the area Sunday.

Have a great day!…
