Night owls and early birds in Cary should brace for a series of detours as the N.C. Department of Transportation has announced upcoming closures at the I-40/I-440/U.S. 1 interchange for soil testing activities, with each ramp closing for one night from Sunday through Wednesday between the decidedly inconvenient hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., conditions permitting.
