BRODHEAD, Ky. — Fire departments across central and southern Kentucky are responding to an increased number of deadly fires this winter, with officials expressing concern about more cold weather ahead.
Recent incidents include three children killed in a Jackson County house fire, a deadly blaze in Rockcastle County and a home damaged overnight in Lexington.
“The winter has been steady. It’s not been a slow season by any means, which is not what we want,” said Assistant Chief Brian Bullock of the Brodhead Fire Department.
